YAMATO STUDIO NYC has just opened in July 2023.

The studio is located on the corner of Pearl St and Plymouth St in the heart of the ever charming Dumbo, Brooklyn.
 

In 2011, Miki opened "YAMATO STUDIO" in Tokyo, and in 2015, expanded to a second studio.  In 2023, “YAMATO STUDIO NYC” officially opened its doors in Dumbo, Brooklyn.

Miki was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.  She has been working with a camera since the age of 10, and by 12, she had built her first darkroom. Her formal education in photography, fine art, and design began at Joshibi High School of Art and Design. She continued her studies at Nihon University College of Art, developing her expertise in special effect camera techniques and photography. After graduating in 2009, Miki embarked on her journey as a professional photographer. In 2011, Miki opened "YAMATO STUDIO" in Tokyo, and in 2015, expanded to a second studio.  In 2023, “YAMATO STUDIO NYC” officially opened its doors in Dumbo, Brooklyn.

Miki’s work continues in fashion, music, and portraiture. She promotes ethical and sustainable fashion brands and actively volunteers for animal rescue and rights organizations. Miki can find the most joy when capturing pet portraits of everyone’s favorite furry friends.
